From the collection: The Ancient Mariner. This collection of cast bronze filigree references the chaotic whimsy of and spirit of the sea. Since ancient times, humanity has been both inspired and horrified by the power of the ocean. This collection, inspired by the poem The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, brings an abstract esoteric view of the sea, her creatures, myths, legends, and all the brave souls who are drawn to the open water.
This art is a modern abstract representation of symbol of the fish. I made this fish while listening to the chaos of the punk rock era; especially from the NOFX songs: “Fish in a Gun Barrel” and “Stranger than Fishin'”.
