[PG.B3.S3]  “The Lovers” Story Arc

Your brain feels very foggy, but you have a vague notion of where you are and who you are. You know that you came to this spot because you were in danger and it offers safety. Now that you have woken up, it seems that the danger has passed. Yet you can feel anxiety and panic creeping on through your blurred vision. If only you could see! Where is your visor? You can’t remember. Did you set it down close by? You need to find it to correct your vision. You sniff the air and taste the familiar smell of metrominum to your left. You can make out a distinct dark gray shape. You maneuver your body around and set your face into the dark gray shape. You can feel it click into place as the latches that have been implanted into your skull link up and lock in place. Yes perfect that feels right, except the screen is black. Why isn’t it working? you should be able to see now.

what do you do?

The Tlikæ are from the planet Fenri in the Loptr System. Once mighty warriors of tooth and claw, bioengineering and genetic manipulation over the centuries have made them dependent on pharmaceutical chemicals and bionic implants. Their once exalted society slowly digressed, bombarded by the propaganda and indoctrination of the bioinformatics company Eple. When the Dovic plague mutated their DNA they became nearly immortal, but now they are no longer able to produce offspring.

When the Kaya’kau revolted against the Eple Emperor, waves of chemicals were used in warfare and now their planet is barren and lifeless. The planet of Helstrom offers the Tlikæ a new chance to rebalance their DNA, and hopefully a younger generation will emerge.

Karina “Kitten” Harper is a mixed media fine artist that specializes in casting bronze filigree. Through object symbology she references forms, shapes and words that are already familiar and reinvents them to ask new questions about what they mean in modern day society.

This artwork is a part of the creative storytelling collection titled The Sigils of Helstrom. These symbols represent the different factions of the Helstrom Universe played through the WEIRDrpg: an immersive gaming metaverse based on the folk traditions and legendary creatures and characters of cultures all around the world.
