This collection of artwork tells the story of Hope and Despair in a desperate age for humanity.
We are watching the Earth be destroyed before our very eyes: burned and pillaged by industry, raped by “progress”, flooded with exploitation and xenophobia. In these dark days, what can we do to stop it? How can we care for the Earth and each other to create a future of Hope for generations to come?
It starts with Compassion [Vietnamese: Lòng Trắc Ẩn] It starts with empathy for our human family all over the world, seeing their hurt and struggles, and working toward a solution to heal it.

This is a digitally recreated photograph of original Vietnamese calligraphy carefully drawn at the Chùa Diệu Nhân Buddhist Monastery in Cocoa, Florida, USA, under the instruction of the temple master Sư Phụ Shanti Gotami. The original artwork was donated to the monastery. A photograph of the original calligraphy has gone through a creative process of destruction and production much like our world in the current era.
Lòng Trắc Ẩn [Compassion] These words are a precious part of the research I am doing to develop the international creative storytelling project: the WEIRDrpg. This parable for modern life focuses on Wisdom and Empathy and how we can learn to make wise choices to create a better world.
